Anchor ⚓
Poetry #4 - By Murali Venkat
Poetry is like a feeling that comes very rarely to me.
Today, while reading a post, I saw a word that created a spark.
That word was “Anchor ⚓”.
My ship had sailed from the port.
In the middle of the Indian Ocean,
my anchor fell from the ship.
It stopped me from moving.
You are the one who helped me leave the port,
but you are also the one who stopped me from going further.
These were the voices inside me when my anchor fell.
One eternity later,
I understood the truth.
The problem wasn’t the anchor.
The problem was me.
I thought you stopped me,
but it was only in my mind
just baggage my heart carried.
I left that baggage in the middle of the ocean.
I waited seven years for this realization.
Nothing comes easily.
Realization comes only
when you go through your pain completely.
