Evolution Of a Reader
#1 The Girl in Room 105
It's been many days since I have posted. I don't know what to post now. A few weeks ago, I wrote about the Evolution of a Writer—my journey of stepping into the world of writing. If u guys haven’t read it, you can press the above link to read it.
But before a writer is born, there’s always a reader.
And today, I want to share my evolution as a reader, which eventually led me to writing.
My reading journey began with a fiction novel:
Book 1: The Girl in Room 105
Published in 2018, this book was the very first one I bought for myself on my birthday. It’s been my little tradition to buy a book every birthday. But to be honest, until then, I had never actually completed a book in my life. So, for two years, that book just sat on my shelf, untouched.
Then came 2020 the year of the pandemic, lockdowns, and, for me, insomnia. I got so addicted to my phone that my sleep cycle completely broke. In search of a solution, I came across two options:
Meditation
Book Reading
I knew meditation wasn’t my style, so I chose the second option. That’s when I remembered the book quietly waiting for me for two long years. And, by a strange coincidence, on my birthday in 2020, I finally opened it.
From that day, everything changed. Page by page, my interest grew deeper. Within a month, I had finished it the first book I ever read completely. And that month remains the best sleep I’ve had in my life.
That experience made me realize something important: reading doesn’t make you bore; it makes you better. It nourishes your mind, heals your thoughts, and, in my case, helped restore my peace.
I thought of writing about every book I’ve read since then, but I feel each one deserves its own post. So, this is just the beginning of my “reader’s journey.” See you guys’ next week with another post about another book.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. If you enjoyed reading this, do like, share, and subscribe. Your support means the world to me.
