Two Options
Be broken forever or turn pain into a lesson - Poetry #6 (By Murali Venkat)
I ask,
“Why does life always have a mysterious plan?”
Because life is training us
to become a better person.
I ask,
“I have a dream, and I want to pursue it for a girl.
Is it wrong?
Since childhood, my parents have given me comforts,
and now I want to settle in life for a girl.”
Listen, bro,
If it weren’t for that one girl,
I wouldn’t be here making movies.
Many years ago,
I was broken because of a girl.
But later, I realized something
pain can either destroy you
or create you.
So, I took a pen and paper
to stitch my heart back together
from the pieces it was broken into.
If she hadn’t left my life,
maybe I would have been
a common man
doing a 9 to 5 job or something.
But that didn’t happen.
And maybe that was life.
Maybe that was fate.
Maybe some people come into our lives
not to stay,
but to change us.
If you think she is worth it,
then you have to take a chance
and express your feelings.
I didn’t do that in my life.
And sometimes,
the words we never say
become the heaviest weight
we carry for years.
Life will always give you two options:
Be broken and never move on.
Be casual and take it as a lesson.
At first,
I chose option 1.
But later,
I realized and learned
that everything that happens in life
is part of learning.
Nobody stays with you forever.
The only person
who stays with you forever
is you.
So be kind to yourself
when you are in your low phase.
And be harsh sometimes
if your comforts
are stopping you
from building your dream.
Because sometimes,
comfort delays destiny.
And sometimes,
pain shows you
who you are meant to become.
