What's the Point?
Between what I want and what they expect...
Since childhood, I’ve been hearing these words:
→ Study well in school, and your life will be perfect.
→ Crack IIT or EAMCET in inter, and your life will be perfect.
→ Learn everything in college so you can get a job, and again your life will be perfect.
But these lines aren’t told only to me.
They’re told to every boy and girl in almost every family.
I don’t really understand what I’m doing in my life right now.
In school, I trusted my parents. I believed that if I studied hard, my life would be perfect.
But after going to inter, I realized I was just a scapegoat. Still, for my parents’ sake, I studied without any interest. And somehow, I scored a good rank.
And after all this, they’re still using the same dialogue I’ve been hearing for years.
But this time, I left everything.
Now, in college, I’m just an ordinary student with a low CGPA.
Not only my parents—this is how most parents in India are.
They follow what society tells them, without caring about what their son or daughter truly wants to become.
If they had thought even a bit more maturely, maybe I wouldn’t be here in this college.
I mean, what’s the point of all this?
If someone wants to become an actor, what’s the point in studying until 21?
These are all rules our parents follow, written long ago by society—and still, they blindly obey them.
At last, I just want to say one thing:
If someday I get to do what I truly love,
then everything that’s happening and has happened till now—
will be worth it.

There is a point; You do learn a lot of stuff in college. Not just for exams. you learn about people, about world and life in general.
Good one !
